Elvin “Gene” Davenport, 85, of Urbandale, and formerly of Ogden, passed away on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center.

A visitation for Gene will begin at 10 a.m.. on Monday, November 20, 2023, at Zion Lutheran Church in Ogden, followed by his memorial service at 11 a.m.. Rozanne R. Braynard, 71, of Ogden, passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2023, at the Boone County Hospital, Boone, Iowa.

JoAnn “Jo” Zunkel, 88, of Ogden, Iowa, passed away at her home on Wednesday, August 30, 2023.

A memorial service for Jo will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 15, 2023, at Community United Methodist Church in Ogden. John Franklin Wheeler, 80, of Ogden, Iowa passed away on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at his home in Ogden while surrounded by his loving family.

John, son of John and Laura (Hommer) Wheeler, was born on October 30, 1942 in Chula Vista, California. John graduated from Boone High School with the class of 1961. Following his education, John worked for the Department of Transportation, Napier COOP and Bourns Electronics. He then started his career at the Fareway Warehouse where he was employed for over 37 years before retiring as Warehouse Supervisor.

Funeral services for Donna Foust were held August 1, 2023 at First Baptist Church, Jefferson, Iowa. Interment was in Linwood Cemetery, Boone, Iowa. Services were arranged by Slininger-Schroeder Funeral Home of Jefferson.

Donna L. Foust, 91, went to be with her Savior on July 28, 2023. She was born October 20, 1931 to parents Glen E. and Jennie I. (Butler) Runyan. She grew up in Boone County, Iowa and went to school in Jordan and Ogden.

Ruth A. Evans, 85, of Beaver, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, July 29, 2023, at the Eastern Star Masonic Home in Boone.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, August 3, 2023, at Carson ~ Stapp Funeral Home in Ogden. Pastor Evelyn Lewiston will officiate. Burial will be at the Beaver Cemetery, Beaver Iowa. Pat Vermillion, 93, passed away Monday, July 10, 2023, at the Eastern Star Masonic Home in Boone.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, July 15, 2023, at the Grace Community Church, 625 South Division Street, in Boone. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Linwood Park Cemetery, Boone. The family requests casual attire.

Pat was born June 12, 1930, in Newton, Iowa, the daughter of Cornelius and Mary (Gerhart) Kleinendorst. She attended schools in Newton and graduated from Newton High School in 1947.
