How do I talk to a live person with UPS? ›

Call our local UPS Customer Center at (888) 742-5877 to speak with one of our attentive, motivated and knowledgeable team members, who can answer any of your questions about domestic or international packages shipped via UPS.

Answer: If you're not home to sign for UPS, the driver will leave a notice of attempted delivery at your door. You can then either schedule a redelivery or pick up the package at a UPS location.

UPS may make up to three delivery attempts at its discretion at your address on regular UPS delivery days. After the final attempt, undeliverable packages will be returned to the sender.

Why can't I submit my claim on UPS.com? The shipper of your package has a restriction on the account, which doesn't allow recipients or third parties to begin the claim process. Contact the shipper who requested you submit your claim for further assistance.

What happens if you're not home to sign for UPS? UPS will leave an InfoNotice at your residence that shows the next scheduled delivery attempt, or where to collect the package. After three attempted deliveries, the package is sent back to the shipper.

Call UPS Customer Service directly at 1-800-742-5877 and explain that your package says it's been delivered, but you can't find it. If you know your neighborhood UPS delivery driver, you could also ask them what happened with the delivery and where they may have left it.

If you live in a safe neighborhood and the package is not valuable, it may be safe to have UPS leave it at the door. However, if you live in an area with high theft rates or the package is valuable, it may be safer to have someone sign for the package or have it delivered to a secure location.

If you're unavailable when UPS attempts to deliver your package, you may need to visit their pickup location to get your package. UPS will redirect your package to the nearest UPS Access Point® in your home.

Why does UPS take so long? ›

There could be several reasons why your UPS package is taking longer than expected to arrive. Some common reasons include weather delays, high package volume during peak seasons, incorrect or incomplete address information, customs clearance delays for international shipments, and unexpected transportation issues.

Nearly one in four adults had a package stolen in the last 12 months, a survey by Finder said. Theft can be an even more serious problem if those packages contain necessities, like medication, or expensive items.

UPS reserves the right to refuse to pay any claim for loss or damage to property until all outstanding Charges owing to UPS have been paid in full.

UPS will determine the potential value of the package contents and verify that the product falls within the guidelines of UPS terms fo service. Once the claim has been approved, UPS will make a payment (to the shipper). UPS will pay either the replacement or purchase cost, whichever is less.

UPS doesn't send text messages unless you have a delivery scheduled with them and have asked for SMS updates. If you haven't requested updates, don't click on links. A sense of urgency. A classic warning sign of a phishing attempt is when the sender tries to create a sense of urgency.
